Lots of stuff going on

WOW!  I was talking to Dave K(Nick's friend) about my blog last weekend and realized...I have not posted for almost ten months! Quite a bit has happened since last here.

First, my son Nick is now home from Ft. Hood, TX. He is almost done with active duty, moving on to National Guard Unit near Albany, NY. Closer to home is good! He has four more years of Army NG, then he is done with his commitment. He will be going to school full time in the next six months or so.

We had a great year in the gymnastics world. Samantha won two NY State Championships: USAG Level 3 and USAG XCEL. She is doing very well and is excited to learn more skills. USAG has changed the requirements and routines for the next eight years. We will be learning a lot this next year. Samantha just finished 2nd grade and is excited to start 3rd grade. She is already missing her friends and teacher! Samantha is still enjoying girl scouts as well. They earned a few badges and the Wonders of Water Journey.

Rhapsody is still enjoying gymnastics, she did not compete as much as her sister, but is excited as well for the new routines and skills. She has been very active in girl scouts. She went rock climbing with her troop and loves, loves rock climbing. I can not believe she is now in the 5th grade(oh my, did I just say 5th grade? No way!) She is missing her friends and teacher as well.(They just got out of school this past Friday)

JR is keeping busy with work. He has been traveling quite a bit lately. The biggest project that he has been involved with the past year and a half is almost complete. Mediacom has built a new office building. All the corporate employees will now be housed in one place. And oh my, oh my what a building! It is absolutely gorgeous!

I have been very busy keeping the house going, trying to keep up with my Avon business, keeping Samantha's girl scout troop active and earning badges, and coaching gymnastics in the evenings at Gym Kids. I finally have a vegetable garden planted in the back.

This, of course is just a glimpse of what has been going on...

Staying positive in Rock Tavern,
Laurie
